Introduction
The thirty two parables spoken by Christ are some of the most intensely scrutinized spiritual teachings in the history of man. Over the centuries scholars and theologians have devoted vast amounts of time and effort to the study of these enigmatic and hauntingly beautiful stories. Fully one third of all the words attributed to this teacher were uttered in parables. Because they are such a large part of his teachings, we can only assume that the messages these deceptively simple stories contain must have been of enormous importance to their bearer.
To begin our own study, let’s look at an important introductory proposition. This is that the parables of Christ are not what they are normally considered to be—a more or less random collection of educational stories with important yet largely unrelated moral messages. Instead, the thirty two sequential lessons related in these sparse allegories deliver a unified, fully integrated system of knowledge. The foremost intention of this book is to describe and clarify this system of knowledge.
Further, the parables were told to us in a specific sequence. They emerge from the verses of the gospel in a specific chronology well-established by biblical scholars. Like the collection itself, this sequence was not random. The order was carefully orchestrated by the teacher to enhance the coherency of the parables as a system. In the pages that follow, you will learn about the intricacy and significance of this chronology. You will see that the order of delivery provides a brilliantly logical and artful way to instruct us in the powerful system of knowledge the parables delineate.
As the parables unfold one after another, you will find they weave a well-knit tapestry of powerful lessons, lessons wholly consistent with those found in contemporary self-empowerment, metaphysical, and psychological thought. The parables even contain concepts consistent with cutting-edge developments in quantum physics and multidimensional theory, as well as other advanced scientific disciplines.
And would this not make complete sense? If Jesus, like other great spiritual teachers, was truly enlightened, would it not be logical that he comprehended great truth on all levels? Great truths are beyond time. What is true now about the mechanisms of the mind and the universe was just as true then. It therefore seems entirely reasonable to posit that Christ was perfectly well aware of how things worked, even in his relatively primitive time period long before the advent of science and modern psychology. And it seems equally reasonable to assume that as a dedicated teacher he would have had an intense desire to communicate what he knew.
Consider: How intelligent do you believe this eccentric Jewish teacher really was? How much do you think he really understood about the universe? Was he what you might call highly intelligent or “brilliant?” Or was he even more? Do you think it possible that he was actually a full-blown genius, a man gifted with an intelligence so massive that his brain power rivaled, even exceeded that of modern geniuses such as Newton, Einstein, or Stephen Hawkings? In addition, do you think it possible that he simultaneously possessed right-brained gifts--intuitive and creative capabilities--exceeding those of contemporary talents?
If you will grant that he almost certainly possessed simultaneous gifts of both raw intelligence and creative/intuitive talent, would you also allow that it is therefore probable that he understood even then the essence of those revelations modern science and psychology have only recently brought to light?
In fact, to carry this conjecture to its logical conclusion, can you see that it is entirely possible that Christ may well have contemplated and mastered even those profound truths that lie ahead yet undiscovered by the scientific minds of our time? This book will show that, in reality, the parables were the way this very advanced soul used to try to communicate what he knew so far ahead of his time, and what he knew that may yet lie ahead for us to discover.
But how would such an enlightened being, embedded in such a primitive time period, have communicated what he knew? Words and phrases, especially those available to him in his native Aramaic, were wholly inadequate to embody the thoughts that coursed through this man’s mind. It was very much as though this man was a kind of genius from the future who had appeared in an undeveloped culture and society.
From that isolated venue, he tried to construct messages that could somehow communicate the profound and very useful principles that had awakened in his consciousness. Using the simple words, phrases, and concepts available to him in his native Aramaic and his simple agrarian culture, Jesus had to figure out a way to construct teaching stories of sufficient depth and complexity to transmit the essence of the advanced principles he wanted us to know about.
Christ wanted us to know what he knew. But more importantly he wanted us to be able to do what he could do. Of course. How could this be otherwise? He wanted us to be able to heal ourselves and others, he wanted us to be able to manifest abundant supply when were experiencing lack, he wanted us to know how to cope with unhappiness and tragedy so effectively that we could turn even our greatest tragedies, our greatest darknesses into worlds of light and love and happiness. He wanted us to be strong, happy, confident, prosperous, and free. And so, he told us a series of unusual little stories. Here, the highly evolved scientific, psychological, and metaphysical principles he comprehended are put into words and communicated.
These lessons are not valuable from a merely theoretical standpoint. The lessons lead inexorably to action. They show us what we must actually do on a day-to-day basis. They show us how to live in order to embody the potent system of knowledge they teach.

As we proceed, you may be truly startled. For you will see that one of the great secrets of the parables is that that they are really all about you. Each of them addresses a process, a dynamic process of evolution that occurs with you--as well as every other soul--as we all make our way to a state of perfect light. This should come as no great surprise for and enlightened being such as Christ would have wanted no trace of codependency in his teachings. He knew that we have to work on ourselves, not others, as we make our way back home. His lessons challenge us to understand our own thoughts and attitudes and actions.
THE TRANSLATION ISSUE
The book that precedes this, The Twelve Conditions of a Miracle, provides a retranslation of the words that describe how a young Jewish mystic fed over five-thousand people with only two fish and five loaves of bread. The gospels, including all of the parables, were originally written in Greek in the period of time one to three hundred years after the death of Christ. To understand what they are really saying, we therefore need to know something about the Greek language.
As was abundantly stated in the Twelve Conditions of a Miracle, Greek is a very ancient language and reflects the thoughts and experiences of a culture thousands of years old. As a result, one word in Greek, even ancient Greek can have multiple levels of meaning. Furthermore, in Greek there are many different but closely related words that can be used to parse very fine shades of philosophical or theological meaning. Greek was therefore an ideal language for the Gospel’s authors to express subtle philosophical, psychological, and metaphysical concepts in a very accurate and precise way.
When the Greek account of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes is broken down and all of the subtle levels of meaning in all the words are unpacked and uncoiled, it becomes evident that standard translations leave out large amounts of critical information. When this information is recovered and reconstituted, a previously hidden layer of information is thus revealed. Here, the actual technique of the miracle is described in perfect clarity and detail.
You will find the same to be true with the parables as well. When the original Greek words that describe the thirty two parables are unpacked and all their information reconstituted, it becomes readily apparent that a layer of previously obscured information is revealed. The retranslation process is very much like cleaning an old painting and finding beneath the surface composition yet another—one more beautiful and far more valuable..
As the retranslation process takes place, and the deepest messages of the parables are revealed in sequence one by one, a entirely new system of thought emerges with crystalline clarity. Here the great principles governing success and happiness and self-empowerment—as they relate to our thought forms, our intentions--are revealed with satisfying clarity.
As you proceed through the lessons so revealed, you will be convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Christ was a master of the creation of reality, a master of the use of intention to create changes in external reality, thus his miraculous healings and his displays of super-abundant supply. These famous acts of reality alteration were possible because Christ understood the quantum nature of the universe and the incredible power of the subconscious mind to create within the quantum milieu.
In addition, as your study precedes, you will be convinced of an additional fact: That whenever Christ lapsed into the parable mode, he did so specifically to illustrate one of the great principles governing the mysteries of reality creation. Whenever this unusual Jewish teacher told us one of his pithy stories, he was really try to tell us how to use our own minds, our own hearts to generate better states of supply, better states of health, better lives, better worlds for ourselves.
